Chevilo Puvvu (English: Flower in Ear - "Mockery") is a 1990 Telugu, comedy film, produced by K. Ashok Kumar under the Sri Usha Art Productions banner[2] and directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayana.[3] It stars Rajendra Prasad and Seetha in the lead roles,[4] with music composed by Chakravarthy.[5] The film marked the directorial debut of E. V. V. Satyanarayana as a director, which is recorded as a flop at the box office.[6][7]
Plot
Prasad (Rajendra Prasad) an unemployed educated guy, grows up in his maternal uncle's (Sakshi Ranga Rao) house, who has a habit of walking in sleep. During the time of his uncle’s daughter’s marriage, Prasad by mistake walks in sleep and sleeps in his bride’s room. The bridegroom Paramatma (Tanikella Bharani) notices this, suspects them and demands Rs.20,000 as compensation. Prasad asks 6 months time and comes to the city to earn money. He starts doing petty jobs and many funny incidents happen during this time and he meets a beautiful girl called Anupama (Seeta). She helps him to get a job in a Government office where he develops a good friendship with the colleagues' Manager Venkateswara Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao), Satti Babu (Subhalekha Sudhakar), Anjaneyulu (Brahmanandam), Srilakshmi (Srilakshmi), Peon Appa Rao (Mallikarjuna Rao). Anupama also gives the amount required for Prasad where he starts loving her and recedes to her about his love, but to his shock, he comes to know that Anupama is a widow. In spite of that Prasad comes forward to marry her. During the time of marriage preparation, Prasad comes to know that he is suffering from lung cancer. Now he wants to stop the marriage because he does not want to make Anupama once again a widow. So, he plays a drama with the help of his colleagues' that he has an affair Srilakshmi and makes everyone hate him and Anupama also leaves him. In fact, Prasad doesn't have any disease, his reports have been changed by mistake and immediately he runs behind Anupama but by that time she leaves the town. Years roll by, Prasad still waits for Anupama hoping that she will return one day. To his surprise, she comes as General Manager to his office. Prasad tries to reveal the truth he observers that Anupama is already married. Rest of the story is did Anupama is really married? What happens to Prasad? Will they reunite?
