Charles King Irwin (father)

Charles King Irwin, D.D.[1] (18 July 1837[2]–3 January 1915[3]) was an eminent Irish clergyman[4]

Irwin was educated at Trinity College, Oxford[5] and ordained in 1861[6] After a curacy at Derrynoose he held incumbencies at Kilmore, Brantry,[7] Keady[8]Clonfeacle and Armagh.[9] He was appointed Keeper of Public Library in 1913.[10] He became Archdeacon of Armagh in 1894.[11] His son was a Bishop in three dioceses.[12]
