William Benyon (born 7 March 1945[5]), also known by the nickname of "Billy", is an English former professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s and 1970s, and coach of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, England and Lancashire, and at club level for St. Helens, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and Warrington, as a centre or stand-off, i.e. number 3 or 4, or 6,[1] and coached at club level for St. Helens, and Leigh.[4]

Billy Benyon won caps for England while at St Helens in 1968 against Wales, in 1970 against Wales,[2] and won caps for Great Britain while at St Helens in 1971 against France (2 matches), New Zealand, and New Zealand (interchange/substitute), and in 1972 against France (2 matches).[3]
