Betty D. Toczylowski (February 5, 1916 – November 8, 1994) credited as Betty Tanner was an American actress with dwarfism, best known for her role as one of the Munchkin villagers in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.[1] Tanner was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, and was the third of four children born from Polish parents. She was the only dwarf in the family, ultimately reaching a height of only four feet three inches.[2] She died from a heart ailment on November 8, 1994 in Boston.[1]
