Banauli Donauli is a village development committee in Mahottari District in the Janakpur Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3966 people living in 711 individual households.[1] It is very near Thakurpati and Jankpurdham city

Major inhabitants Here the major inhabitants are brahmin, Bhumihar,Dhanuk,SHAHUJI,Lohar,Mukhiya and Das.

Formerly this village was under Banauli-Donauli VDC of Mahottari district however after the provincial distribution of the country, it lies in Pipara Gaupalika of Mahottari district and Janakpur Zone. Banauli is considered as the birth place of great Maithili Poet Bidyapati and hence it holds great historical significance. Brahmins and Bhumiyar are the major caste in this village. Besides this Mandal,Mushar, Tatma are also residing caste in this village. This Village lies 4 K.M south of Janakpur(capital city of province No.2).
