Axel Tischer[1] (born 5 November, 1986) is a German professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Alexander Wolfe. He is a former NXT Tag Team Champion.

Professional wrestling career

Independent circuit (2004–2015)

Tischer began training to be a professional wrestler at age 13 in his home town of Dresden.[1][3] Tischer wrestled extensively on the independent circuit throughout Germany and Europe, appearing for numerous promotions including German Stampede Wrestling, the German Wrestling Federation and Westside Xtreme Wrestling. In 2012 he defeated El Generico to win the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship and held the championship for almost a year before losing it to Tommy End.[4]

WWE

NXT (2015–2018)

In April 2015 Tischer began training at the WWE Performance Center as part of a class of 10 international WWE recruits to .[1] He made his television debut on the July 15, 2015 episode of NXT, losing to Samoa Joe.[5] In August 2015, Tischer adopted the ring name Alexander Wolfe.[6]

In 2016, Wolfe formed a tag-team with Sawyer Fulton at NXT live events.[7] In September, Wolfe and Sawyer joined a stable called SAnitY, which also includes Eric Young and Nikki Cross. The stable made its debut on the October 12, 2016 episode of NXT, with Wolfe and Fulton defeating the team of Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger as part of the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. On November 2, in the second round of the tournament, Wolfe and Fulton defeated the team of T.J. Perkins and Kota Ibushi. Wolfe and Fulton lost to TM-61 in the semi-finals of the tournament. On August 19, 2017 at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, Wolfe and SAnitY leader Eric Young defeated The Authors of Pain to win the NXT Tag Team Championship, becoming the first German to hold a championship in WWE. Dain and Young lost the Tag Team Championship to The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) on the NXT episode aired on 20 December 2017.

SmackDown Live (2018–present)

During the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-up, SAnitY, without Nikki Cross, were drafted to SmackDown Live. They debuted on the June 19th episode of Smackdown Live, where they attacked The Usos. SAnitY lost their in-ring debut in a six man tag match against Jeff Hardy and The Usos. Wolfe was pinned by Hardy in the closing moments of the match. On the July 3rd episode of SmackDown Live, SAnitY attacked The New Day during The New Day's first annual 3rd of July Pancake Eating Contest. On the July 10 episode of Smackdown Live, SAnitY and The Bludgeon Brothers lost to Team Hell No and The New Day. At Extreme Rules (2018), SAnitY picked up their first win by defeating New Day in a Tables match.

Wolfe made his WWE video game debut as a playable character in WWE 2K18.
