Armenia’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was chosen by their broadcaster, ARMTV, who decided that the popular singer André would represent the country with the song "Without Your Love". The song was written by Armen Martirosyan and arranged by Ara Torosyan.

André was born in the city of Stepanakert, in Nagorno-Karabakh. André attended formal music lessons from the age of 6 when he took up piano classes at the Komitas School of Music in Stepanakert. After studying for three years André wrote his first song "Prayer". André has participated in the festivals Voice of Asia, Golden Skif, Shanghai festival, and Championship of Performing Arts. He has twice been awarded the title of Armenian singer of the year.

At Eurovision

In the Semifinal he performed first, following Bulgaria. He advanced to the Final placing six with 150 points.He performed , the twenty-fourth at the end of the voting he landed eight with 129 points.Meaning that Armenia automatically qualified for the final in the 2007 contest.
