Synopsis

The scion of a powerful family decides to end the legacy of violent factionism that exists in his village and claimed the life of many.

Plot

A police officer who hears loud and horrifying screams from an old mansion moves to the nearby tea shop believing the mansion to be a haunted one. He initiates a conversation with a man drinking tea(Sunil) who says that there is a long story behind the screams. The movie then goes to a flashback.

A village called Kommaddi is divided into 2 factions : Kommaddi led by Narappa Reddy(Naga Babu) and Nallagudi led by Bhasi Reddy(Jagapati Babu). The factionism is also known as 5 rupee factionism since it began with Bhasi Reddy beheading a man of Kommaddi over 5 rupees during a card game. Each side joins a political party so as to increase their power. Bhasi Reddy sides with Krishna Reddy(Rao Ramesh) while Sudhakar Reddy(Subhalekha Sudhakar) consults Narappa Reddy. Thus it becomes a 30 year old long war.

Narappa Reddy's son Veera Raghava Reddy(Jr. NTR) returns to his village after finishing his education. Before the train could reach the station it is stopped and he is received by his father and his uncle. On their way they are attacked by Bhasi Reddy's henchmen. While driving Raghava loses his control after a goat suddenly enters the non-metalled road. As he sides his car, someone releases a big boulder which lands on the small muddy bridge to which bombs were attached destroying it and the effect of which pushes back Raghava's car and destroys another car. Soon henchman arrives with sickles, knives and axe led by one with a gun. He kills Narappa Reddy and his brother. As both the factions fight, Raghava steps out shocked and traumatised by his father's death and is stabbed by a henchman. The henchman is soon killed by his bodyguard. The sight brings out the animal in him and he starts killing Bhasi Reddy's henchmen one by one. He slices the hand of Subbu, the man who killed his father. As he continues his rampage wild and shirtless,he finds that Bhasi Reddy is monitoring the attacks from the other side. He rushes to kill Bhasi Reddy. Bhasi Reddy who spots Raghava fires his gun twice but misses. Before he could make the final shot Raghava stabs him at the neck killing him. Soon more henchmen led by his son,Bala Reddy(Naveen Chandra), arrive and attempt to kill Raghava. However, they are stopped by the police who arrive at the last moment.Sudarshan Reddy decides to consult Raghava since Narappa Reddy has died. However he is dissuaded from continuing his killing spree by his grandmother(Supriya Pathak). He leaves the village with only his mother's(Devayani) and grandmother's knowledge after warning Sudarshan Reddy not to play much politics in the present scenario.

The story moves to Hyderabad introducing Aravindha(Pooja Hegde). She is the eldest daughter of a famous criminal lawyer Saradhi(Naresh) and has a sister,Sunanda(Eesha Rebba) and a brother. Her father who takes the case of a local mobster not only fails in it but also teases them. Meanwhile Raghava crosses path with Neelambari(Sunil),a mechanic and stays in his workshop before leaving Hyderabad that night. He strikes a friendly bond with him. Aravindha is chased by those goons and seeks shelter in Neelambari's workshop. Raghava instantly develops a liking for her after finding that her thoughts are similar to that of his grandmother's. He drives away the goons by scaring them. Aravindha leaves without even thanking him. That night while Neelambari takes Raghava to the Railway Station, they are forced to stop due to the routine "Drunken drive" checking by police which annoys Neelambari. While having a quarrel with a constable for no reason an excited Neelambari opens Raghava's bag which had a gun in it. He is arrested on the suspicion of being a dangerous criminal but Raghava promises to bail him out. He approaches Saradhi. Aravindha who recognises him secretly narrates the previous day's incident. Saradhi becomes impressed and decides to use him as a bodyguard to drive away those goons. He asks Raghava to stay in their house while he studies the case of Neelambari. During those days he bonds with Aravindha and begins to develop feelings for her. Back in the village a few people of Kommaddi volunteer to go in search of Raghava especially since Bala Reddy is spreading rumours that Raghava has left the village due to his fear for life. They manage to trace him but he sends them away after explaining his current situation.

Aravindha's brother approaches Raghava for a story which he could give as a school magazine article. He narrates his story in a slightly different manner which gives Aravindha a slight indication of his past. She tells him that she is doing a documentary on factionists and seeks his help. He helps her and soon she reveals her feelings for him. Meanwhile Aravindha's brother's article reaches Bhasi Reddy's house through a teen who used it to cover an illegally obtained bottle of honey from the police while taking it to Bhasi Reddy's nursing centre. It is seen by Bhasi Reddy who is revealed to be alive. He sends his most trusted henchmen to abduct that boy. While purchasing flowers for Aravindha who has arranged a meeting, Raghava notices the vehicles of Bhasi Reddy's henchmen and follows them to Aravindha's brother's school along with Neelambari. After subduing them, he finds out that Bhasi Reddy is still alive and has given order for the attack. Unable to meet Aravindha at the proper time causes a rift between them especially since he fails to give a valid explanation as she claims that she is not his first priority.

Bhasi Reddy who returns home finds that his henchmen have failed in their mission. His son promises to fulfill his wish and resolves to lead the new team of ruffians by himself. Raghava meets Krishna Reddy (the idea which he gets from Aravindha while narrating the story to her brother) to meet Bala Reddy and end the brutal factionism. At the same time Bala Reddy and Marappa(Brahmaji) kidnaps Aravindha and her brother. Raghava manages to rescue them by giving horrible threats through phone. The incident further sours the relation between him and Aravindha and her father asks him to move out. After proclaiming his love for the last time, Raghava leaves the house and goes to organise the negotiation with Bala Reddy in the presence of Sudarshan Reddy and Krishna Reddy. Aravindha and Sunanda meet Neelambari and asks him to take Aravindha to Raghava's village to meet him and complete her documentary about factionists. She deives into the history of factionism in the village and during interrogation with a woman finds out that Raghava's life is in danger. Bala Reddy attempts to murder Raghava during their talk with the help of his henchmen but he overpowers them. He promises to make Bala Reddy a minister in the following elections if he supports him in his mission to bring peace between the two factions. This changes his mind and he agrees. However he decides not to reveal about this meeting to Bhasi Reddy. Aravindha phones Raghava who asks her to go to his house with Neelambari as he is not ready to risk their lives.

On their way, the tyre of the jeep gets punctured and they unknowingly seek shelter in Bhasi Reddy's house. That night Marappa attacks Subbu who teases him and under the influence of alcohol reveals the truth about the meeting to Bhasi Reddy. Angered he kills Bala Reddy. Bhasi Reddy's wife(Eshwari Rao),Neelambari and Aravindha enters the room on hearing the noice and are shocked at the sight Bala Reddy stabbed and nailed to the wall. As Bhasi Reddy's wife abuses him for killing their son Marappa notices and recognises Aravindha.

Raghava is phoned by Bhasi Reddy to inform that both Aravindha and Neelambari are in his custody. He reveals that he has ignited faction war in Kommaddi by spreading a false news that Raghava has killed Bala Reddy. Raghava decides to meet him at the place where the war began 30 years ago. Bhasi Reddy slits the vein of Aravindha and stabs Neelambari in front of Raghava so as to instigate him. He tries to change the mind of Marappa and Subbu who accompanies Bhasi Reddy. Bhasi Reddy attempts to murder him. Having a change of heart, they voluntarily takes Aravindha and Neelambari to the nearest hospital after placing their weapons at the feet of Raghava. Raghava kills Bhasi Reddy saying that " I am killing you not for murdering my father but for murdering your own son. " He meets Bhasi Reddy's wife to whom he reveals the incident. After washing the bloody knife with which Raghava killed Bhasi Reddy she cleans her face with the water and then takes him to stop the war. She reveals the truth and Raghava successfully unites the two warring factions. Bhasi Reddy's wife gets unanimously nominated as the candidate for the upcoming election.

The movie comes back to the present where Neelambari reveals that Raghava has locked those goons in that house who could disrupt the election. However they manage to escape by finding the key of the mansion which was hidden in the building itself. They come to the tea shop where they meet Raghava who after having a word with them walks away.
