Andre Savelio (born 21 March 1995) is a rugby league footballer who plays for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League. Primarily playing as a second-row or lock, he previously played for St Helens and the Warrington Wolves in the Super League.[2][3]

Early life

Savelio was born in Lower Hutt, New Zealand and raised in Warrington, England,[4] having moved there as a one-year-old[5] when his father, Lokeni, started playing in the Super League.[6] Of Samoan descent, Savelio attended Cardinal Newman Catholic High School,[7] and played his amateur rugby league for Latchford Albion before being signed by St. Helens at the age of 14.[8] He represented England at an under-16 and under-18 level.[9]

Playing career

Savelio made his first team début for St Helens in March 2014 against Leeds Rhinos.[10] After the conclusion of the 2016 season, Savelio joined Warrington Wolves on a one-year deal.[11]

In July 2017 he signed a two-year deal to play for Brisbane.[12] During a pre-season trial, Savelio suffered a season-ending injury.[13][14]
