Ameris Bancorp is an American financial holding company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida.[3][4] Ameris provides retail and commercial banking services to its customers in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee through its wholly owned subsidiary Ameris Bank.[5] Ameris Bancorp was incorporated on December 18, 1980 as ABC Holding Company to act as parent company to American Banking Company. As of December 31, 2015, Ameris had approximately $5.59 billion in total assets, $4.02 billion in total loans, $4.88 billion in total deposits and $514.8 million in stockholder equity.[1]
