Akash Thosar (born 24 February 1994) is an Indian film actor who appears in Hindi & Marathi films. He became an overnight star through his best-known role as "Parshya" in the Marathi blockbuster Sairat.

Career

Thosar was born and raised in a small village Jeur in Karmala in Solapur district, Maharashtra. Before coming into movies, he was a wrestler.[1] He was spotted at a railway station in Solapur by Bharat Manjule, brother of Sairat director Nagraj Manjule, who then called Akash for audition.[2] Thosar later starred in the lead role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi movie FU: Friendship Unlimited in 2017.[3]

In the latest 2018 Netflix original “Lust Stories”, an anthology film, Thosar paired opposite Radhika Apte in the first story directed by Anurag Kashyap.

Awards

Akash Thosar won the best debut award (male) at the 3rd Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017 for his performance in Sairat.[4][5]
