Abhinav Shukla is an Indian model and television and film actor. He has acted in many TV shows.[1]

Personal life

Abhinav was born in Ludhiana, Punjab. His father, Dr. K.K. Shukla, worked as an entomologist at Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana and his mother, Mrs. Radha Shukla is a teacher at Guru Nanak Public School (Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana). He married to actress Rubina Dilaik on June 21, 2018.

Education

He passed from Guru Nanak Public School (Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana) in 2000, and completed his Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Engineering and Technology (Moga, Punjab) in 2004. He was an allrounder who participated in various science exhibitions as well as sports. In 2004 he participated in the Tryst-2004 technical festival organised by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and his team won Best Design Award.

Career

In April 2004, Abhinav was selected as Mr. Best Potential in Gladrags Mr. India Contest. He finished among the top six in Grasim Mr. India held on 29 January 2004. He also finished as the runner-up for the best physique in the subtitle contests held on 22 January 2004.

He started his career in the Indian television industry with Jersey No. 10. Later he went on to play praiseworthy roles in Geet, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Jaane Kya Baat Hui, Chotti Bahu – Sindoor Bin Suhagan and Hitler Didi. In December 2010 he opted out of Geet, in a mutual decision with the production house.

He was one of the 22 castaways in season 1 of Survivor India. He won the immunity twice in a row (Episode 19) and reached the last five, but was voted out in Episode 21. He played a cameo in Zee TV's show Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan. His made his debut as a main lead in film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans, in which he plays role of Pundit an army commando, he got good reviews for portraying the character, with santabanta.com, mentioning that he actually leads from the front.[2] In 2018 he opted to play a negative role in a colors based serial Silsila.

Outdoors and Adventure

Abhinav Shukla who is a self-confessed adventure junkie successfully climbed the peak of Stok Kangri in pure Alpine style along with his brother on 23 July 2017 and announced that this marks his foray into mountaineering.[3] In 2016 he along with his brother completed a 7-day trek from Chandra Taal to Bara-lacha la in alpine style.[4] A year before he had cycled from Manali to Leh solo in six days.[5]

Outdoors He is known for his outdoor and adventure activities, whenever not shooting or working he likes to trek and camp out in the woods. On 4 January 2014 while on a trek to a fort in Matheran forests of Maharashtra he got stuck on a ledge of a rock face and had to be rescued by a team of rock climbers. He said he had mentally prepared himself for days of survival, even had stored his urine for emergency.[6]
