The Abasyn University is a private university located in the residential neighborhood of Peshawar, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.[1] The university also has a teaching campus in Islamabad;[2] however, its main campus is in Peshawar.[1]

Abasyn University, Peshawar is charted by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). Abasyn University was the only University in KPK which was awarded category "W" at the inception which was the highest category to be awarded to any institution in the old ranking system by HEC.

Founded with the efforts led by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2007, the university is a private institution of higher learning.[3] The university offers undergraduate and post-graduate studies; it's noted for its engaging research in the development of augmented reality and artificial intelligence.[4]

Abasyn University offers degree programs in various disciplines including Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Education and Technology. National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) has accredited BS in Computer Science and BS in Software Engineering programs offered by the University. The University is accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan for the award of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) program. It is also accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council for BE in Electrical Engineering and BE in Civil Engineering programs.

History

Abasyn University Peshawar was established in 2007 and got approval of its charter in 2009 from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly via bill No. PA/NWFP/Bills/2009/38457, N-W.F.P. Act No. XIII of 2009. Abasyn University established a distinctive new campus in the city of Peshawar which is spread over a lush green area of multiple acres.

Abasyn Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS) publishes rigorous, well written articles from a range of theoretical and methodological traditions. AJSS published articles that engage with contemporary challenges in the field of business and management.[5]

Abasyn Journal of Social Sciences has been recognized by HEC in Category X.[6]
