The 38th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held at Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, on May 19, 1990. This is for the Outstanding Achievements of the different films for the year 1989.
For this year Nora Aunor won her fourth Best actress Award, While Vilma Santos was elevated to the Hall of Fame for winning the Best Actress award five times. Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit was this year most awarded movie, winning seven awards including, Best Picture, Best Actress ( Aunor), Best Actor ( Cruzz III), Best Director and Best Screenplay[1]
