  • ESA's ExoMars rover will be launched to Mars.[2]
  • Planned launch of NASA's Mars 2020 mission to study the habitability of Mars and prepare for future human missions.[3]
  • ESA plans to launch the Euclid mission to investigate dark matter and dark energy.[4]
  • Planned initial observations by the Square Kilometre Array radio telescope.
  • Several new rockets have planned maiden flights in 2020 in a race to lower launch costs: New Glenn,[5] Vulcan,[6] Ariane 6,[7] H3[8] and first orbital flights of BFR.[9]
  • Reaction Engines' Synergistic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine plans to have the new building ready to fire it's engine core. [10]
  • The ITER facility is expected to start commissioning its reactor and initiate plasma experiments in 2020, but is not expected to begin full deuterium-tritium fusion until 2027.[11]
