The 2018 Liberty Flames football team represents Liberty University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They are led by seventh-year head coach Turner Gill and play their home games at Williams Stadium. The 2018 Flames are now playing as a member of the FBS for the first time, as an independent, but are ineligible for postseason play this season, due to the FCS-to-FBS transition rules unless they have at least 6 eligible wins and there are not enough bowl-eligible teams to fill all the spots.

Previous season

In their final season in the FCS as a member of the Big South Conference, the Flames finished the 2017 season 6–5, 2–3 in Big South play to finish in fourth place.
