The 2018–19 season is the 35th season in the history of Aizawl Football Club and their third in the I-League, India's top flight professional football league. The season covers the period from 1 June 2018 to 31 May 2019.

Season overview

June

ATK, an ISL outfit, announced the signing of the Aizawl F.C.'s goalkeeper, Avilash Paul for 2018-19 ISL season.[1][2]

Aizawl promoted three of their academy graduates – Lalbiakzuala, S R Lallawmawma and K Lalhmangaihkima into their senior team.[3][4][5]

On May 26, Aizawl welcomed talented left-winger, Jesse Laldinpuia to the People's Club squad for 2018–19 season. He previously played for the Zo United FC.[6]

On May 28, Aizawl welcomed the current captain of Mizoram football team, Lalrinchhana Tochhawng into the squad for 2018–19 season.[7][8]

On May 29, Aizawl signed talented midfielder, Isak Vanlalruatfela from Bengaluru FC Academy for 2018–19 season.[8][9]

On June 6, Aizawl announced the signing of last season's best coach award winner, Gift Raikhan from the NEROCA F.C. as head coach for this season.[10][11] On new club, Raikhan said:[12]

On June 7, Aizawl announced signing of the Nigerian striker, Chidi Edeh for 2018–19 season.[13] He last played for the Nigerian Premier League side, Enugu Rangers in 2016 and also have more than 100 goals to his name in I-League.[14]

On June 10, Leonce Dodoz Zikahi signed a contract with the Aizawl and also joined the Mohammedan Sporting on short-season loan to play in the upcoming Calcutta Football League.[15][16]

On June 22, Chennaiyin F.C. announced signing of the Aizawl's defender, Laldinliana Renthlei on a two-year deal.[17]

On June 27, Aizawl announced the signing of Mizo duo, Lalrinfela from the Fateh Hyderabad and Joe Zoherliana from the Chanmari.[18][19]

August

On August 7, Aizawl announced the signing of the Mizoram midfielder, David Lalbiakzara from NEROCA.[20]

On August 13, Aizawl announced the signing of Punjab goalkeeper, Gurpreet Singh from NorthEast United FC while the midfielder, Liandala Fanai joined the defending champions, Minerva Punjab from Aizawl.[21][22]

On August 18, former Indian international defender, Govin Singh arrived from NEROCA.[23]

On August 22, Aizawl signed Ghana forward, Francis Dadzie who played for Sporting Clube de Goa in 2016.[24]
