The 2017–18 Spartan South Midlands Football League season was the 19th in the history of Spartan South Midlands Football League, a football competition in England.
The constitution for Step 5 and Step 6 divisions for 2017–18 was announced on 26 May 2017.[1] Following a few amendments, the constitution for the Spartan South Midlands League was ratified at the league's AGM on 24 June 2017.[2]

At the end of season 2016–17, the following teams left the Premier Division:
- Broxbourne Borough, relegated to Division One
- Hertford Town, promoted to Isthmian League Division One North
The remaining 20 teams, together with the following, form the Premier Division for 2017–18:
- Biggleswade, promoted from Division One
- Harpenden Town, promoted from Division One

Notes:
- ↑ 12 of the 14 runners-up at Step 5 were to have been promoted to Step 4.
However, with resignations and mergers in leagues above, all fourteen runners-up were promoted. - ↑ London Tigers are placed above Holmer Green having won more games – criterion 4.
- ↑ Sun Sports resigned from the league, having played six matches, and as a result their playing record (PL:6, W:1, D:1, L:4, GF:6, GA:15) was expunged.[3]

- Arlesey Town Reserves, withdrawn
- Biggleswade, promoted to the Premier Division
- Chesham United Reserves, withdrawn
- Hadley Wood & Wingate, withdrawn
- Harpenden Town, promoted to the Premier Division
- Kensington Borough, transferred to the Combined Counties League
The remaining 15 teams, together with the following, form Division One for 2017–18:
- Enfield Borough, promoted from Division Two
- FC Broxbourne Borough, relegated from the Premier Division
- Maccabi London Lions″, promoted from the Herts County League
- Rayners Lane, transferred from the Hellenic League
- St Neots Town Reserves, promoted from Division Two
New Bradwell St Peter had been promoted from Division Two but folded during the summer and were replaced by St Neots Town Reserves.
