The 2017–18 Northern Football League season was the 120th in the history of Northern Football League, a football competition in England.

The constitution for Step 5 and Step 6 divisions for 2017–18 was announced on 26 May 2017, and fixtures were released on 3 June 2017.^[1]^[2]

Division One

Division One consisted of 22 clubs.

The following 3 clubs left the Premier Division before the season -

Chester-le-Street Town – relegated to Division Two
South Shields - promoted to Northern Premier League Division One North
West Allotment Celtic – relegated to Division Two

The following 3 clubs joined the Premier Division before the season -

Billingham Synthonia - promoted from Division Two
Stockton Town - promoted from Division Two
Team Northumbria - promoted from Division Two
