In the 2005–06 season, USM Alger competed in the Ligue 1 for the 26th time, as well as the Algerian Cup. It was their 11th consecutive season in the top flight of Algerian football. They were competing in Ligue 1, the CAF Champions League and the Algerian Cup.

Season Journey

When she is not a champion she is a Runner-up, here we find again the USM Alger at the top of the table. We remember the start of the season missed by the outgoing champions, they managed to raise the bar at the end of the first half of the season. The teammates of Billel Dziri, a true symbol of the Red and Black, managed a perfect return phase, scary even the JS Kabylie at the end of the course, but it was not enough especially as the 3 points removed from the USMA after the case of the match in Tizi Ouzou were decisive in the award of the title. Despite the best attack of the championship, it remains a disappointing season for the fans, especially with a new early elimination in the Champions League. But the Algerian Cup final that arrives against the neighbor Mouloudéen can give a smile to the Usmistes.
