ผู้เยาว์

From ผู้ (pûu, “agent noun prefix”) +‎ เยาว์ (“young”); literally "youngster" or "young one".

Probably first used on 11 November 1923, when the first book of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand was promulgated.

ผู้เยาว์ • (pûu-yao)

1. (law) minor: person under the legal age of full responsibility.
   • 1990, พระราชบัญญัติแก้ไขเพิ่มเติมประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ (ฉบับที่ ๑๐) พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๓:

     มาตรา ๓ ให้ยกเลิกความในมาตรา ๑๔๓๖ และมาตรา ๑๔๓๗ แห่งประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ และให้ใช้ความต่อไปนี้แทน "มาตรา ๑๔๓๖ ผู้เยาว์จะทำการหมั้นได้ต้องได้รับความยินยอมของบุคคลดังต่อไปนี้...(๓) ผู้รับบุตรบุญธรรม ในกรณีที่ผู้เยาว์เป็นบุตรบุญธรรม

     Section 3 The provisions of Section 1436 and Section 1437 of the Civil and Commercial Code shall be repealed and replaced by the following: "Section 1436 In order to make an engagement, a minor must obtain the consent of the following person... (3) the adoptive parent, in case the minor is an adopted child;
