From Arabic رِزْق‎ (rizq), from Middle Persian 𐭫𐭥𐭰𐭩𐭪‎ (rōzīg, “sustenance, daily bread”), from which ܪܘܙܝܩܐ‎ (rōzīqā) also derives. Compare Persian روزی‎ (rōzī).
