Probably from în + foc, or possibly from a Vulgar Latin root *infocāre, from Latin focus. Compare Italian infuocare, Sicilian nfucari, Spanish and Portuguese enfogar; cf. Aromanian nfucari, nfucati, Neapolitan nfucato.
