beynəlxalq
Azerbaijani
Etymology
From Arabic بَيْنَ + خَلْق (bayna + ḵalq, “between the peoples”); the latter part is present in Azerbaijani as xalq (“people”). In Arabic itself, the word دُوَلِيّ (duwaliyy) has become standardised for “international”. Compare Turkish beynelmilel (“international”) and Persian بینالمللی (beynalmelali).
