Considered a modified version of -agar. Also from Esperanto -igi, Latin -igō and German -igen.

    bela (fine, beautiful, handsome, bonny) + -igarbeligar (to beautify, embellish)
  2. with an intransitive verbal root, gives it an active sense
  3. with a transitive verbal root, gives it a causative sense, usually followed by the preposition da
