I Love You, California

"I Love You, California" is het officiële lied (Engels: state song) van de Amerikaanse staat Californië. De tekst werd geschreven door Francis Bernard Silverwood (1863-1924), een kleermaker uit Los Angeles. Abraham Franklin Frankenstein (1873-1934) schreef de bijhorende muziek. Het stuk werd in 1913 uitgegeven door Hatch & Loveland Music Printers. Operazangeres Mary Garden introduceerde "I Love You, California" aan het grote publiek. Het stuk was populair in de jaren 1910, maar slechts weinig Californiërs kennen het nu nog. Veel bekender is "California, Here I Come" uit de Broadway-musical Bombo (1921). In 1951 bepaalde het parlement van Californië dat "I Love You, California" toch het officiële lied van de staat zou worden.
