Carphodactylus laevis is een hagedis die behoort tot de gekko's (Gekkota) en de familie Carphodactylidae. Het is de enige soort uit het monotypische geslacht Carphodactylus en de typesoort voor de familie Carphodactylidae.[2] De soort werd voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Albert Charles Lewis Günther in 1897.

De gekko komt endemisch voor in Australië, in het noorden van Queensland. De soort kan een lichaamslengte bereiken van 13 centimeter.
