The school has held specialist technology status since 2004, and converted to become an academy in 2013. It has around 1200 pupils on roll.[1]

House system
The school houses are Brunel (yellow), Curie (red), Faraday (blue) and Stephenson (green). There are two tutor groups from every year group in each house.
