According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93.0 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

At the 2000 census there were 249 people in 97 households, including 64 families, in the town. The population density was 6.9 people per square mile (2.7/km²). There were 161 housing units at an average density of 4.5 per square mile (1.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White.[2] Of the 97 households 29.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% were married couples living together, 3.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.0% were non-families. 27.8% of households were one person and 11.3% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.23.

The age distribution was 24.5% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 28.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% 65 or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.9 males.

The median household income was $30,417 and the median family income was $42,083. Males had a median income of $26,979 versus $15,833 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,423. About 3.7% of families and 7.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.3% of those under the age of eighteen and 12.9% of those sixty five or over.
