The town covers an area of 15.3 square kilometres (5.9 sq mi), and has a population of 1,132 (as at 28 August 2006).
Višňové lies approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) north-east of Znojmo, 42 km (26 mi) south-west of Brno, and 175 km (109 mi) south-east of Prague.
