Technological Institute of the Philippines

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) is a private, stock, non-sectarian school founded in February 1962 by a group of educators headed by engineer Demetrio Quirino Jr. and his wife Teresita Quirino.[1]

T.I.P. is ranked 42 out of the top 100 universities in the Philippines by the Madrid-based Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.[2]

At present, the Technological Institute of the Philippines has campuses in Manila and Quezon City.

ABET

T.I.P. got the first ABET accreditation of its 20 programs in 2013—6 Computing programs from the ABET Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) and 14 Engineering programs from the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC).[3]

T.I.P. went for the second cycle of ABET international accreditation in 2018 and received the reaccreditation of all 20 of its engineering and computing programs from the ABET EAC and ABET CAC, respectively, in 2019.[4]

Seoul Accord

T.I.P.'s Computer Science, Information Systems, and Information Technology programs are among the first in the country to be recognized by the Seoul Accord.[5]

Local accreditations

In April 2016, T.I.P. Manila and T.I.P. Quezon City were granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).[5]

The school's programs are accredited locally by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA),[6] the Philippine Technological Council (PTC),[5] and the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) Information and Computing Accreditation Board (PICAB).[5]
