"Sonnenbrille" (German pronunciation: [sɔnnɛbʁillɛ]; transl."Sunglasses") is the debut song recorded by Swiss-Albanian rapper and songwriter Loredana. The German-language rap song was written by the aforementioned rapper and produced by German producers Macloud and Miksu.

Commercially, "Sonnenbrille" became Loredana's breakthrough single reaching the top ten in Albania and Austria, and the top fifteen in Germany and Switzerland. Due to high sales, the song was certified gold in Austria by the Verband der Österreichischen Musikwirtschaft for sales exceeding 15,000 copies.

Background and composition

Born in 1995, Loredana was raised by Albanian parents in the city of Lucerne, Switzerland.[1] She rose to fame on Instagram after she began to upload videos that featured her lip-syncing along to popular hip-hop and rap songs.[2]

"Sonnenbrille" runs for a duration time of two minutes and forty one seconds and is, in regard to the musical notation, performed in the key of A minor in common time with a vivace tempo of 160 beats per minute.[3].The song was entirely written by Loredana herself. Her future collaborators and German producers, Macloud and Miksu, were helmed for the production of the song.[4][5]

Promotion

"Sonnenbrille" was independently released on digital platforms and to streaming services as a single on 16 June 2018. Its accompanying music video was premiered onto the official YouTube channel of Loredana simultaneously with the aforementioned release, where it has since amassed a total of 57 million views.[4][6] The video was directed by Eugen Kazakov and Mohamed Elbouhlali and features the appearance of Loredana's former husband Mozzik.[7]
