Sri Madhopur

Sri Madhopur or Shrimadhopur[1] is a city and a municipality in Sikar district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is one of the six tehsils of the district.This city is home of the Late Kushali Ram Mishra's famous ancient Mishra(Peepalwa) Haveli, this haveli is the first residential property of Shrimadhopur and was built in 1761[2][3] .[2]

Shrimadhopur city have an importance for business of clothes and as well as for agricultural crops . The Shrimadhopur sub district is the tenth largest subdistric[4][5]t population wise in the state .In ancient times the city was very famous because of industry of making utensils of aluminum and utensils were only available in this city . But along with passage of time the city lost it's importance for utensil production .[6][7]

City Area

The Shrimadhopur city is bordered in Northern side with Khandela town with Palsana town in west, Ajitgarh in east and with Reengus in south. The Municipality area or Nagar Palika Kshetra of city is expended from Jalpali Mode area of city to Brahmachari aashram mode of the city vertically. The area of city is about 24 km2 . The city covers a large area . It also have a large residential area. The kachiyagarh colony, court colony, mangal colony, jalpali, pushpnagar are the most densed areas of city . The statue circle ( of ex municipality chairman of city) present in chaupar bazar is the centre of city market.

Railways

This city is chosen for development of DFC Railway station I.e. Delhi to Mumbai freight corridor. Under this the station is developed well, electrified and the loading of goods in trains is available . An ancient engine is also kept at Shrimadhopur Railway Station for people.

The Shrimadhopur Railway Station is now one of the most leading Railway station in the district as well as in the state.

The city Railway station is at near pokharmal fuel station, arun palace road .

Education

The city has many CBSE and RBSE private and Government schools . Students from nearby towns and villages came here for education. City also have many colleges and the Government Sanskrit college is only government college in the city.

Transportation in City

E rickshaws, Auto rickshaws, local buses are most common sources of transportation in the city. For Local transport E rickshaws and auto rikshaws are available from New City Bus stand ; Old Bus Stand ; Railway Station ; City Bypass Flyover and Vinay Marg . The city is R.S.R.T.C. depot from where government buses are available to many cities and towns of the state and the other states. The R.S.R.T.C. Shrimadhopur depot headquarters is situated at Jalpali area while City bus stand is present near Nagar Palika Office, Rajpath Road .

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[10] Sri Madhopur had a population of 5,83,935. Males constitute 52.6% of the population and females 47.3%. Sri Madhopur has an average literacy rate of 95.93%, higher than the national average of 74.04%: male literacy is 92.69%, and female literacy is 79.45%. In Sri Madhopur, 12.24% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Sri Madhopur is located 12 km from the National Highway 11 (India). The nearest railway junction is at Sri Madhopur, and the nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport at Jaipur. It is 75 km from the state capital city Jaipur, and 217 km from the national capital Delhi.

Connectivity with metro cities

Shrimadhopur[11] city has direct connectivity with different metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai through railway network of India. The direct trains are available from Shrimadhopur to various cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahemedabad , Indaur , Phulera, Reengus , Rewari etc. .
