Synopsis

Im Sang-mi and her family move from Seoul to Muji-gun, a suburban town, after her father's business fails. There is a religious cult called Goseonwon that has most of the town in its grasp; it has a large number of followers and disguises itself as a peaceful church but dark secrets, torture, violence, and murder lurk underneath.

Sang-mi's brother, Sang-jin, is mercilessly bullied and assaulted at school; when he finally commits suicide as a result, the event breaks Sang-mi's family apart. Taking advantage of their fragile state the leader of the church lures her parents into the cult. Despite Sang-mi's repeated objections that there is something wrong with the cult, her father becomes fully brainwashed. With her father in the clutches of the cult and her mother mentally unstable, Sang-mi becomes trapped and unable to escape.

Three years later, Sang-mi's previous classmates, Han Sang-hwan, the son of Muji's governor and now a law student, his best friend Dong-chul, and their two friends, Jung-hoon and Man-hee, have a chance encounter with Sang-mi, wherein she whispers "Save me." Sang-hwan, determined to right the wrongs of his past, becomes determined to save Sang-mi and expose the cult's reality to the town; he is joined by Dong-chul, Jung-hoon, Man-hee in the mission, unaware that they will uncover a deeper web of corruption than just the cult.
