Samastipur Junction railway station

Samastipur Junction railway station, (Station code: SPJ), is a railway station serving the city of Samastipur in the Samastipur district in the Indian state of Bihar.[2] The Samastipur Junction railway station, is well connected to most of the major cities in India by the railway network and serves the city with numerous trains. Samastipur is well connected to Patna, Muzaffarpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Howrah,Bangalore, Udaipur, Jaipur, Kanpur, Guwahati, Surat, Lucknow, chennai, Amritsar, Ahemdabad, Rusera Ghat, Ranchi, DhanBad, Gwalior and other cities. It is also the originating station for many superfasts and express trains.

Facilities

The major facilities available are Waiting rooms, retiring room, computerised reservation facility, Reservation Counter, Vehicle parking etc.[3][4] The vehicles are allowed to enter the station premises. There are refreshment rooms vegetarian and non-vegetarian, tea stall, book stall, post and telegraphic office and Government Railway police(G.R.P) office. Automatic ticket vending machines have been installed to reduce the queue for train tickets on the station.[5]#wifi available. The junction have now the facilities of escalator and lift at both the ends of junction. The station has also shed from market side entrance which gives like an airport view.

Platforms

There are seven platforms at Samastipur Junction. The platforms are interconnected with two foot over bridge(FOB). Platform 3,4 and 5 are the busiest platforms and mostly used for long route trains. Now after completion of Samastipur Kishanpur Double line Rail section now almost every train coming from [[DARBHANGA]] ,[[JAYNAGAR]], and Raxaul side is given Platform no 1,2 and 3 and train coming from MUZZAFARPUR JUNCTION is alloted PLATFORM NO 4,5 and Train coming from BARUNI JUNCTION is alloted PLATFORM no 6 and 7 while train coming from KHAGARIA JUNCTION VIA RUSERA GHAT is also alloted PLATFORM no 1,2,3 generally
