Redondo Beach station

Redondo Beach is an elevated light rail station on the Los Angeles County Metro Rail. It is served by the Green Line. Located on Marine Avenue in Redondo Beach, California, it is the western terminus of the Green Line.[1] The station platforms are situated above Marine Avenue. The original name for the station was Marine/Redondo which may still be in use in some places. The station was rebranded as Redondo Beach station in 2005, when the station signs were changed on the platform and on street level.

Location

An extension beyond Redondo Beach into Torrance is the planning stages. The train platform, currently suitable for two-car trains, may be lengthened to accommodate three-car trains to enable increased capacity of the line.[2]

Metro Rail service

Green Line service hours are approximately from 5:00 a.m. until 12:45 a.m. daily.[3]

Bus connections

The station appeared as the light rail station in the opening montage to the 1995 film Heat. The station also appeared in the closing moments of another film directed by Michael Mann, Collateral.
