Quirino, Ilocos Sur

Quirino, officially the Municipality of Quirino, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 8,573 people.[3]

Formerly known as Angaki (also spelled Angkaki in some sources), the municipality was renamed in June 1964 to Quirino in honor of Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines.[5]
