Pulayanarkotta literally means the fort of the Pulaya's King.

History

The Pulayanarkotta region was ruled by a dynasty belonging to the Pulaya community is said to be and Pulayanarkotta is also famous with a story about the Kalipulayan who the last Pulaya king of Pulayanarkotta and his clan which is not added in the Kerala history.a temple dedicated to him has been left at Attakulangara in Thiruvananthapuram.[1][2][3]
