Pravesh Rana (born 26 February 1983) is a male model and Mr. India 2008, and a reality TV show personality. In 2009, he participated as a wild card entry in the reality TV series, Bigg Boss 3

Early life

Pravesh was born in a Hindu family in Baraut, Uttar Pradesh, India. Pravesh's father worked in the police services. He completed his schooling from the renowned convent school St. Mary's Academy, Meerut, after which he moved to Ramjas College, Delhi University to complete B. A. (Honors) in Economics.[1]

Career

Rana's penchant for mimicry has garnered work for Pravesh as an anchor in stage shows; he has done more than 850 shows in the whole of India and overseas. He won the Haywards 5000 Mr India contest in 2008 at a ceremony at Hotel Intercontinental Mumbai.[2] Rana has worked for television channels like Zoom, STAR Plus, Bindass and Colors as an anchor. He got into Bigboss 3 as non-celebrity participant. Pravesh has been walking the ramp for all the top designers of India like Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra, Varun Behal, Vikram Phadnis, Rocky S, Manish Gupta etc. and has been the face of all the major fashion weeks in India like Lakme Women's Fashion Week, Wills India fashion week, Lifeyboy Fashion week, Couture fashion Week, Playboy tomboy magazine, Wills Fashion Show, Ghanees Film Festival.

Bigg Boss 3 entry

Rana was the 14th person to enter the Bigg Boss house in season 3. There was an audition held in three cities in India for Bigg Boss and Pravesh won the audition in Delhi. He entered the house on the 33rd day and was runner-up. He was awarded for this performance and was given a chance to host a popular reality TV show.

Pravesh Rana has been one of the hosts on the Indian television since he came out of Bigg Boss, hosting various seasons of successful shows like Emotional Atyachar season 2, 3, 4 and 5, and it is the highest rated show on all the youth based channel, He has also successfully hosted many award shows like "Screen Awards for Bollywood", "Indian television Awards" and "Golden petal awards", among others.

Pravesh has done a Bollywood movie Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, which is a sequel of a very successful film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, directed by one of the most talented directors in Bollywood, Tigmanshu Dhulia. He is also a part of movie San'75 Pachattar, which is set to release on 19 August 2016.
