Ken Rutherford scored the most runs for Kiwis with 196 runs at 49.00

Top wicket taker, Jayananda Warnaweera took 9 wickets during the series and he was picked ahead of young Muttiah Muralitharan in the first match. However, during the second game duo scalped 13 wickets between them to seal the game.

During the 2nd test, Hashan Tillakaratne took 7 catches and scored 93 in the first innings was also a highlight of the series.
