New Hope, Wisconsin
New Hope is a town in Portage County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 736 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of New Hope and Peru are located in the town.

Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.4 square miles (94.2 km²), of which, 35.9 square miles (92.9 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²) of it (1.38%) is water.
Demographics
At the 2000 census there were 736 people in 278 households, including 219 families, in the town. The population density was 20.5 people per square mile (7.9/km²). There were 365 housing units at an average density of 10.2 per square mile (3.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.05% White, 0.27% Native American, 0.14% from other races, and 0.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.82%.[2]
Of the 278 households 34.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.0% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.2% were non-families. 16.5% of households were one person and 7.6% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.00.
The age distribution was 25.7% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 26.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% 65 or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.4 males.
The median household income was $46,538 and the median family income was $48,125. Males had a median income of $35,208 versus $27,375 for females. The per capita income for the town was $21,334. About 3.9% of families and 6.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.2% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
