History

On August 17, 2000, Nanya Technology was listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the stock code 2408.

In 2003, Nanya formed a joint venture with Infineon and established Inotera, a DRAM production company.[1]

In 2008, Nanya signed a joint venture agreement with Micron.[2]

In 2015, Nanya started full production of its LPDDR3 4GB products.

In 2017, after years of licensing from Micron, Nanya signaled its desire to develop 10nm nodes in-house.[3] It has also started its pilot run of 20nm nodes in March.

In 2020, Nanya aims to produce their 10nm-class of DRAM chips by the end of the year.[4]

Controversy

In October 2015, (former) Nanya president Charles Kao[5] retired and in July 2019 became CEO of Tsinghua Unigroup.[6]

In March 2020, a holding company backed by Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD) claimed Micron Technology Inc and Nanya Technology Corp infringed on its patents, yet were invalidated by a federal appeals court.[7]
