Matadin Bhangi

Matadin Valmiki was an Indian freedom fighter who played a key part in the events immediately preceding the outbreak of the Indian rebellion of 1857.[2][3][4] He was a Valmiki sepoy (sipahi) in British East India Company.[5] Mangal Pandey refused water to him as he was considered Low Caste for being from Valmiki caste.[6] He was first person who sowed seeds of 1857 revolt.[7][8]
