Career

Matt Minor and Adam Morris met in 2013 in their hometown in Brisbane Australia.[1]

After knowing each other a few months, the duo merged with mission to defy what is considered to be normal electronic dance music and creating a live show that combined their love of music and incredible array of skills as multi-instrumentalists, DJs and producers.[2][1] In 2014, they signed to Lucky Ent. and toured their unique mashups to pubs and clubs across Australia.[2] Later in 2014, the duo secured a weekly national radio segment on Australia's Party People on the Today Network.[2]

In December 2014, MNK released their debut single "Do It Now". The song peaked at number 33 on the ARIA Charts and was certified platinum in Australia.[4]

In 2015, MNK took recording equipment into six Subway stores in Brisbane and captured noises from the ice machine to the beeping of the oven and staff talking to customers before remixing the sounds into a piece called "Sounds of Subway".[5]

In December 2015, MNK released "My Sunshine", a song which heavily samples Len's "Steal My Sunshine". "My Sunshine" peaked at number 18 on the ARIA charts and was certified platinum.[6]

In 2017, MNK signed to powerhouse-label Universal Music Group and publishing company BMG.[1]

In February 2018, MNK were the headline act at the inaugural AFLX Grand Final.[7]

In March 2018, Mashd N Kutcher released "Need Me" which includes a sample of "Lovefool" by The Cardigans.[8]

In July 2018, MNK released "Don't Stop Believin'", a re-work of Journey'song.[9]

In April 2020, Mashd N Kutcher released "Get On the Beers". The song uses and reorders the press conference words by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, during the COVID-19 pandemic.[10]

In May 2020, MNK remixed Laying Low by chillinit [11]
