Lone Pine Township is a township in Itasca County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 410 at the 2010 census.[3]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.9 square miles (95.6 km²), of which 32.8 square miles (85.0 km²) is land and 4.1 square miles (10.6 km²), or 11.08%, is water.

Demographics

At the 2000 census there were 526 people in 225 households, including 161 families, in the township. The population density was 16.0 people per square mile (6.2/km²). There were 340 housing units at an average density of 10.4/sq mi (4.0/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.48% White, 0.38% African American, 0.57% Native American, 0.19% Asian, and 0.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.19%.[1]

Of the 225 households 21.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.8% were married couples living together, 3.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.4% were non-families. 25.8% of households were one person and 11.1% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.78.

The age distribution was 21.5% under the age of 18, 2.9% from 18 to 24, 20.7% from 25 to 44, 35.4% from 45 to 64, and 19.6% 65 or older. The median age was 48 years. For every 100 females, there were 103.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.6 males.

The median household income was $43,611 and the median family income was $51,250. Males had a median income of $47,222 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the township was $23,986. About 3.0% of families and 4.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.7% of those under age 18 and 2.6% of those age 65 or over.
