History

The station was launched from O'Connell Street in Limerick as "New 95fm" on 6 November 1997 replacing Limerick 95. This was after Limerick 95 lost its licence to broadcast. The 95FM frequency was on the test tone before "New 95fm" took over. "Dreams" by Limerick band The Cranberries was the first song to be aired on the station. In 1990s the station began to increase in with listeners. Since the year 2000 the radio station has moved to its new base in Radio House on the Dock Road in Limerick and changed its name from "New 95fm" to "Limerick's Live 95fm".

Reinvention

In February 2019 the station rebranded from "Limerick's Live 95fm" to "Live 95", bringing a fresher look to the station and priding itself on being 'Limerick's Best Music Mix'.

Live 95 is once again the most listened to radio station in Limerick City and County and has grown its audience over the last 12 months. The popularity of the radio station is clear as 65% or over 100,000 Limerick people tune-in to Live 95 weekly, according to the latest Ipsos/MRBI JNLR radio listenership figures, covering 12 months up to September 2019.

Live 95's schedule includes Breakfast with Mark and Catriona, the three-hour Limerick Today Show with Joe Nash, Afternoons with Declan Copues, the Live Drive with Gary Connor and the Hit Mix with JP Dillon. The schedule, as always, delivers up-to-the minute Limerick news and sport and more great music you can't get enough of, too. The station can also be followed on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and at live95.ie

Live 95 is delighted to be involved with several local Limerick charities and through the Live 95 Helping Limerick Children initiative raising funds for CARI Limerick, Cliona's and the Children's Grief Centre.
