List of international cricket five-wicket hauls on Irish cricket grounds

International cricket has been played in Ireland since 1987 when the Ireland women's cricket team played its first One Day International (ODI) at Ormeau Cricket Ground in Belfast.[1] The Ireland men's side played its first full-international match in 2006 at Civil Service Cricket Ground, also in Belfast.[2] Cricket has been played in Ireland since the 1790s and the first Irish representative sides played during the 1850s.[3] Both men's and women's sides had played matches against international sides prior to playing their first ODI, but these are not considered to have been full-international matches.[lower-alpha 1] The two sides played their first Twenty20 International match in 2008, the women's side having played its first Test match in 2000.[1][2] After Cricket Ireland was awarded Full Member status of the International Cricket Council in 2017 the men's side played its first test Test match in 2018.[4][5] Ireland play home matches throughout the island of Ireland.

In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five-for" or "fifer") refers to a bowler taking five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement.[6] This list details the five-wicket hauls taken on Irish cricket grounds in official international matches.

The first player to take an international five-wicket haul on an Irish ground was Australian Jenny Owens who took five wickets for 29 runs (5/29) against Ireland at College Park, Dublin in 1987.[7] Ireland's Isobel Joyce took the first Test match five-wicket haul in Ireland women's only Test match in 2000. Joyce took 6/21against Pakistan, also at College Park.[8] The first man to take an international five-wicket haul in Ireland was Scotland's John Blain who took 5/25 against Netherlands in the 2008 European Cricket Championship.[9]
