Left Movement

Left Movement (Catalan: Moviment d'Esquerres, MES) is a social-democratic, pro-independence political party in Catalonia.[1] Its founders include Marina Geli. The party was founded in November 2014 by former members of the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC) who were dissatisfied with what they saw as the party's lack of support for the independence movement.[2] The new party joined the Junts pel Sí (Together for Yes) pro-independence alliance for the parliamentary elections of September 2015.[3] Since 2017, MES has been a member of the Republican Left of Catalonia-Catalonia Yes alliance.
