Lango tribe

The Langove (Balochi: لانگو‎), or Langah, are a Sulemani-speaking Baloch tribe in Balochistan, Pakistan.

The people of this tribe are inhibited in Mangocher, Quetta, Noshki, Wadh, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Uthal, Mastung districts of Balochistan and some live in Sindh, Larkana, Hyderabad, Karachi, Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan and Multan districts of Punjab and Sindh provinces. Langove is the major tribe of Baloch.In addition, many tribe members have settled in different countries for centuries i.e Iran, Afghanistan, India, Turk

menistan, Azaerbaijan,Russia,Canada,USA and UAE. The majority of the people of this tribe speak Sulemani dialect of the Balochi language. A few who live in neighborhoods of Brahui tribes speak Brahui language, many of them live in villages, they are agriculturalists by profession.

'Sardar Yaseen Langove and Mir Manzoor Hussain Langove' are the tribal Chief of the Langove tribe. Takari Shafqat ullah Langove Mir Khalid Langau and Mir Saeed Ahmed Langove are the political and tribal figures of this tribe.

In Sindh and Punjab this tribe is named Langah and in Baluchistan they are named as Langove. It consists of three major subtribes, Meeranzai,Halizai and Shadizai.[1]

History

According to the historian 'Abd alHaqq, the author of the Tärikh-i Haqqi (written in 1592–3), with the decline of the power of the sultans of Delhi, Budhan Khan of Sindh, the chief of the Baluch tribe of the Längāh, assembled his force at Uchch and invaded Multan. He expelled the Khan-i Khanan, occupied the fort, took the title of Mahmūd Shāh in 1437 and became the first ruler of the independent state of Multan. He ruled for sixteen years and laid the foundations of the Langah sultanate.[2]
