Jaman South District

The Jaman South Municipal is one of the twelve (12) administrative districts in Bono region of Ghana with New Drobo as its capital. It shares common borders with Berekum West District the south-east, Jaman North District to the North, Dormaa Municipal to the south and La Cote d’Ivoire in the west. The Municipal has a total land area of about 700 km2 (270 sq mi) and about 130 settlements most of which are rural and have a population less than 400. It has a total land area of 1,500 km2 (580 sq mi).

History

Jaman South was part of the districts elevated to municipal status in 2017.[1] The Jaman South District was the remainder of the former Jaman District after the Jaman North District had been split off on November 12, 2003.[2]
